Join Sacred Mountain Guiding on this 5 day journey into the remote mountains of Knoydart - ‘Britain’s last wilderness’✹

Our accommodation for the 4 nights is a cosy, private, off-grid bothy which  is reserved for our sole use.

Our main aim during our time together will be to climb the 3 Knoydart Munros from Inverie ~ Ladhar Bheinn, Luinne Bheinn and Meall Buidhe, in addition, depending on the weather and the groups preference, we will also look to either climb one of the local Corbetts ~ Beinn Bhuidhe or SgĂčrr Coire Choinnichean, or perhaps take a lower level walk to the stunning Sandaig Bay which offers white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters...

Our last night together will be spent celebrating with a meal and & drinks in the Old Forge Pub (the most remote pub on mainland Britain! only accessible by boat or foot!)

Accommodation 🏠

We will be staying in a quaint, off-grid private bothy for the duration of our time. the bothy is situated about a 1-1.5hr walk from Inverie Village so please keep this in mind as you will need to carry your belongings and food from Inverie to the bothy so it is advisable to keep things as lightweight as possible. It is an off grid, basic Bothy therefore has no electricity and no shower, although there is a river close by for dipping! It has an open plan layout with a kitchen on one side, lounge area with dining table on the other, and a sleeping platform above. There is a WC at the back, and running water in the kitchen sink also. The bothy has a traditional alpine sleeping platform. The kitchen is well equipped with crockery, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans and a few home comforts. There are 2x one-ring butane burners for cooking. There is also a fire pit outside which is great for BBQ's. There are two woodburner stoves, one each in the kitchen and living areas and firewood is provided.

Itinerary đŸ—»

 Day 1

Saturday Arrive in Inverie on the ferry of your choice from Mallaig. We will meet at the Old Forge Pub in Inverie at 6:45pm. The Old Forge pub is located just a short walk away from the ferry port. Feel free to grab a bite to eat at the pub before we head up to the bothy, which is a 1.5 hour walk away so please keep this in mind when packing & try and keep things as light as possible! :)

Day 2

Monday - Luinne Bheinn & Meall Bhuidhe Today’s aim will be the two Munros, Luinne Bheinn & Meall Bhuidhe. A long, challenging but varied mountain walk with a steep, pathless ascent and rough, rocky summits but the views here are otherworldy!

Distance 16.75 miles/ 27km Ascent - 1586m

Day 3

To be decided between the group We will discuss and decide as a group which hike we will do on this day, taking into account the weather and other factors, we have plenty of options including the inverie corbetts - Beinn Bhuidhe or SgĂčrr Coire Choinnichean, alternatively we could chose a lower level hke over to sandaig bay with its white sands and crystal blue waters where we could have lunch and a dip... the options really are endless here...

Day 4

Tuesday - Ladhar Bheinn Today we will tackle our third and final Munro of the trip, the majestic Ladhar Bheinn! some say that this is the finest mountain in all of scotland! This mountain has everything including dramatic ridges and the most incredible panoramic views! We will finish our day with a celebratory meal & drinks in the Old Forge Pub, the most remote pub in mainland britain! (cost of the meal and drinks is not included)

Distance - 14 miles/ 22.5km Ascent - 1399m

Please note - the days are subject to change, depending on the weather etc :)
